Religious Education: Looking Forward – January 2014

As we learn to write out “2014” on forms, checks and in our emails (stubbornly crossing out the 3 and initialing the correction in my case), RE at UUCM will be jumping back in to the groove!

The energy of our lived principles will fill our RE classrooms these coming month. Our children will experience the wonder of the world (K/1st), how love affects our goings on (2nd /3rd) and the power we all have to effect change around us (4th/5th).  Neighboring Faiths has a full schedule as they visit houses of worship around our area, including Bethany Baptist Church in Newark for the MLK Service in mid-January.  Teachers will be touching base in Team meetings and scheduling for the next few months. As January winds down we will be winding up for February Focus month and Undoing Racism Day which will start in the Rotunda with Children’s Chapel on January 26th.  At the end of February there will also be a Youth Facilitated Service. Keep an eye out for the sign up form early in February (sometime after the groundhog peeks out!).

With the New Year, there is a lot of excitement and satisfaction to look forward to in Religious Education program at the U. If you would like to join in the fun, please let us know! I can be reached at 973-744-6276 Ext 23 or recoord@uumontclair.org.
