Religious Education Looking Forward – September 2015

Do you sense it?  There is a rustle of anticipation for new adventures ahead in both our homes and our UUCM community. The new program year is upon us and there are opportunities for all to engage and grow with our community.

Our programming this year is packed with rich and exciting events and classes.  Our teaching teams are gathering on September 12th for Start-up Saturday to solidify their classroom plans. On Sunday, September 13th, we have two services with children in the Nursery and Pre-K classes at both 9AM And 11 AM. Families with children of ALL ages will be participating in Water Communion and then Family ReUUnion Celebration to start off autumn just right.  Bring a few drops of water for the service and then sun block for the fun afterwards in the Montclair Pre-K Playground across the street from UUCM.

The full RE lineup gets underway on September 20th.  To participate in RE, your children must have a registration on file. This will also help us be sure you are on all the appropriate email lists to inform you about all the activities. As well as classes, we will all come together for community events including Dia de los Muertos, the Holiday Craft workshop and the Pageant as well as pancake breakfasts, movie nights and rights of passage ceremonies.

There are plenty of ways to take part.  If you haven’t received the RE Prospectus yet and you would like to, please contact me.  You can also access it online from the website http://www.uumontclair.org/.   Go to the Religious Education drop down menu and click on Curricula.  Also keep an eye on your email for a new weekly RE email format that will include photos and updates about what our children’s classes are up to and suggestions on how we can bring the UUCM experience into our daily lives.
