Sharing Remembrances in July 2020

You may have read in the summer Gazette that the July services will be extra special. Our congregation has partnered with three other area Unitarian Universalist Congregations to share July worship. This means that we get to hear from amazing area ministers. But what does this mean for remembrances?

Since these services will be aired by four congregations, the remembrance portion is silent candle lighting. Please feel moved to add remembrances to the chat, while the remembrance portion is streaming. And please continue to send your remembrances to remembrances@uumontclair.org. They will be published in our weekly e-blast each Wednesday, and this will alert our congregations Care Team to your experience.

Yours in Faith,
Rev. Anya

P.S. Perhaps you are wondering – “Why are we doing July worship in this way?” Producing online worship places new demands on our staff and our volunteers. Our July plan will allow our staff and volunteers to rest and at the same time get ahead in our planning – something we haven’t been able to do since the start of this crisis and the quick turn around to virtual everything. In addition, sharing worship with local congregations advances our commitment to be “all in this together.” We share the work and the rest and by doing so, we make meaningful connections.
