We are pleased to announce that Judith Hogan has been hired to be our Lead Coordinator for the Religious Education Summer Program. Originally from a California beach community, Judith Hogan is currently a New Jersey based visual artist/creative professional with a diverse background and artistic achievements. After years working in the administrative area of the art world, she has refocused her creative abilities towards, once again, producing works of art. Judith’s art is an eclectic collaboration of styles, techniques, and efforts, producing finished work generally beginning with detailed graphite drawings that evolve into pastels, paintings, or collages.
She has served as a Program Manager and Arts Administrator in multinational and venerated arts institutions such as NYC’s Dia Center for the Arts, The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, The Museum of Modern Art, The New Museum of Contemporary Art, and Paula Cooper Gallery. She brought a creative approach to art concepts in her work as Art Director at the Afro Brazilian Cultural Center of New Jersey and by teaching at the North Star Academy Charter Schools as the Fine Art Enrichment Instructor for children in Kindergarten through Middle school. She has taught art to inner city school children in Newark, and is now mentally blending all the experiences, opportunities and knowledge into a new focus for her artwork. At present, her artwork is an intense exploration into historical art symbolism, primitive iconography and pictographs, with a nod and reference to tarot cards, manuscripts, graffiti, and street art.
Judith looks forward to developing a fun and creative experience for our children and youth this summer. Welcome, Judith!
