Our RE year is winding down and our classes are busy planning their presentations for RE Sunday on June 2nd. Each class will be sharing stories, songs and/or artwork from their RE year. Please make it a point to be here for this very special service, as it is the culmination of all the hard work put forth this year by our children and their dedicated teachers.
June 9th is New Member Sunday, and there is one service at 10:00 AM. Classes will combine for either their last lesson (Pre-K) or for a class year-end celebration (K-7).
On June 16th, there will be one service at 10:00 AM for the Intergenerational Flower Communion. Pre-K classes will meet for their final class celebration and our nursery will be staffed for those 3 years and younger.
June 23rd begins our 10:00 AM summer services. I hope you will continue to bring your children to services, as we have quite a fun curriculum planned and enthusiastic teachers at the ready. This summer we will be exploring the stories of Dr. Seuss – UU style! Each Sunday, the students will hear a Sr. Seuss story and see how it fits in with our UU values and principles.
There are still plenty of ways you can volunteer for the upcoming year. We have teaching positions open and plenty of RE events for which we need help. If you still haven’t registered, please do so, and fill out a Volunteer form to let us know how you will help in the RE program. We need your time, talent and energy to keep the UUCM RE program running. A top-notch RE program benefits the entire congregation.
As you may have heard, I will be resigning my position at UUCM at the end of June. This has been a very hard decision for me, and while I am excited over my next journey, I am also very sad to leave this congregation. You have all meant so very much to me over these past three years, and I will miss it here. Please “friend” me on Facebook if you would like to stay in touch.
Have a lovely summer, and I promise I will come to visit!
See you Sunday,
Allison Sosinsky
