After the successful launch of our Hymn Sings, I realized that we now have three monthly music programs taking place on weekday evenings. As wonderful as it may be to contemplate turning the UU into a conservatory, it is equally important to understand the need for balance. And so from now on we are going to meet on the first Wednesday of each month and rotate between programs. Here is what that looks like (all starting at 7:00 PM):

In other news, Sunday, November 1st marks the date of our second Music in Montclair chamber concert. It starts at 6:00 PM in our Sanctuary, followed by a reception in the Rotunda. Our composer-in-residence, Tom Parente, will be featured along with other contemporary writers.
Speaking of Tom’s work, do you remember his choral composition “October” that was premiered at our first Interfaith Choir Festival two years ago? It is going to be performed by the National Chorale at David Geffen (formerly Avery Fisher) Hall in New York City on Friday, November 20th. Congratulations, Tom!
