“God Matters” - led by the Rev. Abhi Janamanchi, who will share his own journey with God and how it has impacted his own learning and growth. Janamanchi currently serves as senior minister of Cedar Lane Unitarian Universalist Church in Bethesda, Maryland. Born and raised in Southern India, Abhi moved to the United States in 1994. He is a third-generation member of the Brahmo Samaj, a Unitarian Hindu reform movement with ties to Unitarian Universalism and he graduated from Meadville Lombard Theological School in 1998 and received an honorary doctorate from Meadville Lombard in 2018.

This sermon spotlights liberation theology and the role of progressive religion in the fight against systemic oppression.

How do we respect our independence and individuality while also honoring the ways that we are all interdependent on each other?
