Our Ministers

Our congregation was founded in 1897 by a group of women seeking liberal religious education for their children and has a history of long-term settled ministry.
Rev. Anya Sammler-Michael

Senior Co-Minister

Rev. Anya Sammler-Michael

Central to Rev. Anya's current ministry is the honest confrontation necessary to dismantle white supremacy, xenophobia, homophobia, transphobia, and sexism.

Rev. Scott Sammler-Michael

Senior Co-Minister

Rev. Scott Sammler-Michael

A "Religious, Naturalist Mystic," Rev Scott strives to embody service to our holy mission to build Beloved Community, together, in covenant.

Until we meet again, virtually or otherwise, you are in our hearts.

Safety Isn’t Safe

Safety Isn’t Safe

March 12, 2023

Safety isn't safe, but vulnerability serves our collective strength. In community with our Coming of Age youth we discover both our brokenness and wholeness, our susceptibility and our fortitude. Join Rev. Anya, the Coming of Age class, the full Worship Team, and some incredible musicians for this invitation to vulnerability and strength.

The Wounded Healer

The Wounded Healer

It is sadly too frequent that we believe we must be whole, or even perfect, to be of service. In truth, service can make us whole and our broken places can become the sources of our greatest strength.

Nurturing Love

Nurturing Love

February 26, 2023

Tenderness is what love looks like in private. Justice is what love looks like in public. Covenant is what love looks like in community. Accountability is what love looks like in relationships. ‘Revolutionary love’ is the choice to labor for others, for our opponents, and for ourselves in order to transform the world around us. These are the many ways to nurture love. Our service is full of music, energy, joy... and you, if you choose to join us!

Molly, UUCM Religious Education graduate

I am proud to have grown up in this congregation. I learned here to become a compassionate and passionate advocate for social justice on all fronts.

Join us as we counter white supremacy, fight climate change, protect voting rights, witness border injustices, and more.

Share your gifts and help us build Beloved Community.

Whether it is in a classroom, in worship, planting flowers, or on the pledge team, we need your special skills!
