Sharing Our Riches
We are committed to reaching beyond our walls to advance work in the world related to our religious beliefs. Every month we choose to dedicate 25% of our Sunday collection to an organization that does work consistent with our Principles and Covenant. We pick an array of organizations that address hunger, homelessness, equity, healthcare to under served populations, environmental issues, and programs for individuals with developmental disabilities, to name a few.
Previous recipients in First Friends NY/NJ, The Trevor Project, and Planned Parenthood.
Our congregation believes in the inherent worth and dignity of all and the interconnectedness of all life, and reaching out to the larger community is a cornerstone of our congregational life.

The Apostles’ House
The Apostles’ House is a non-profit, non-sectarian organization devoted to providing comprehensive social services to homeless women and children and individuals or families at risk of homelessness in Newark and Essex County, New Jersey, seeking to help homeless and at-risk families transition to more stable housing environments and become self-sufficient through an empowering environment.
Good Success Academies
The Good Success Academies organization, founded and led by the Rev. Allen Shelton, of Watchung Presbyterian Church in Bloomfield, works to empower youth to succeed in school, work and life, with a focus on college readiness, work readiness, career readiness and world readiness.
Perinatal Health Equity Initiative
The Perinatal Health Equity Initiative eliminates health care disparities in Black infant and maternal health. Founded by Dr. Nastassia Davis, this nonprofit empowers Black and Brown women and their children in Essex County and New Jersey. Nancy’s Place, Montclair
As part of the network of Covenant House New Jersey, Nancy's Place, Montclair is a residential crisis center for youth with eight always full beds, provides comprehensive residential care and related services to help local youth who have suffered from abuse, neglect, abandonment, homelessness, and human trafficking build a life for themselves that is good.
UU FaithAction NJ
Our February Sharing Our Riches recipient is UU FaithAction NJ. FaithAction is social advocacy network representing all the UU congregations across the state of NJ, and has been supported and often led by UUCM and its members over the past eleven years. Working with its coalition partners, FaithAction acts as a moral
