Candle Category: Remembrance

We lit a candle to mark the one year anniversary of Jordan Tassy’s death. Jordan’s dear friends, his dad and his mom Norma Tassy marked this difficult milestone by visiting the tree planted in Jordan’s honor in Montclair’s Nishuane Park.

And we light this candle in remembrance of the near one year anniversary of the Death of Jordan Tassy, March 25th. It has been too long without you and still we feel the grace of your life, living here, among those who mourn, who remember, and who were forever changed by your being.

Elizabeth Breedlove lights a candle in loving memory of her husband  Bill who passed away three years ago after a long illness.

Jane Gaertner and Kate Philipson light a candle of remembrance for Neil Jeffrey Philipson, who died on March 16, 16 years ago.  We miss his smile, laughter, and cooking, and much more. 

Deborah Ann Tripoldi and her family light a candle in remembrance of grandfather Ralph DiMaio and cousin Anthony DiMaio.  Both were born on Feb. 24th.  Anthony would have been 33 this year.

We light this candle in remembrance of Travon Martin. It is ten years since his murder, ten years in which the movement for black lives, our contemporary movement for Civil Rights, has grown. We mourn Travon Martin’s  death and celebrate his legacy.
