Rev. Charles Loflin

Affiliated Community Minister

Rev. Charles Loflin leading a Sunday service at UUCM.

A long-time member of the UU Congregation at Montclair, Rev. Charles Loflin is a graduate of Meadville Lombard Theological School. He serves as Executive Director of UU  FaithAction NJ, a statewide organization committed to confronting systemic injustice and building a more compassionate New Jersey through education, mobilization, and advocacy.

Rev. Charles is also shares his role as Sabbatical Minister. He knows our congregational structures and our congregation’s members. He loves UUCM, and he appreciates the opportunity to provide a different kind of service than he has been able to in the past. As Sabbatical Minister Rev. Charles will lead three Sunday services and will support the other services either with his presence or by offering guidance to the worship leader and team. He is also prepared to offer urgent pastoral care, meet with our governance bodies and our staff, and to provide guidance to our volunteer-led teams as needed. Rev. Charles will commit 10 hours a week to serving UUCM. We ask that you respect the boundaries that he sets, as he will not have as much time to offer our congregation as both Rev. Anya and Rev. Scott do when they are actively serving.
