Our Whole Lives (OWL) for 8th grade is a comprehensive sexuality education program that takes a holistic view of sexuality. It provides accurate, age-appropriate information, helps people clarify their values, build interpersonal skills, and understand the spiritual, emotional, and social aspects of sexuality.
Mandatory parent orientations are on Thursday, December 6, 2018 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Sunday, December 9, 2018 from 12:30 to 2:45 PM to learn about the program: its values, philosophy, topics, and calendar; meet the teaching team, talk with other parents about how your family approaches the topic of sexuality, and experience some of the teaching materials first hand.
Please respond to let me know whether or not you would like your youth to participate in OWL and, if so, which orientation session you will be attending. Feel free to ask me any questions you have about the program to help you decide if it is right for your family.
Also we are opening up the class to 8th graders outside of the congregation. So if you know of any 8th graders who might be interested please forward this info.
See flyer for more information about the curriculum or contact Jennifer Bell, UUCM OWL Coordinator, jenny@varnelis.net, or Lily at dfm@uumontclair.org.
