Communications Methods
There are a variety of means by which religious education and other UUCM-related information is disseminated.
First and foremost, please make sure your children are registered for the 2017-18 congregational year.  By submitting the registration, the contact information is then shared with the Teaching Team Coordinators for your child’s class.  This allows the Coordinators and Lead Teachers to share class specific information with families.  Preferred email addresses are also added to the Constant Contact distribution lists for RE volunteers, RE families, and other subsets of the congregation.
You can find blog post updates such as this one in the “RE News” tab under “Religious Education on the UUCM website.
There is a Facebook page for UUCM as well as a Facebook group– please note that Facebook pages are public whereas you need to be added to a group.  There is also a Facebook group specifically for RE Families.  10th-12th grades Senior Youth Group has its own Facebook group.

Assisting in specific classes
To help facilitate the matching of parents assisting in RE classes, there are some sign up geniuses for specific classes where assistants are most needed.  Please find an open slot and someone will follow up with you ahead of your Sundays assisting.  Thank you!

Oct 15 event
During coffee hour on Oct 15 there will be family friendly, multi-age activities for people to participate in.  The craft activities during this time will help decorate and prepare for the Dia De Los Muertos themed chapel on Oct 29 for K-5th graders…

Oct 29 “Coffin Hour”
…and after that Dia De Los Muertos-themed chapel for K-5th graders on Oct 29, all are welcome to a “Coffin Hour” hosted by the Religious Education Committee.  The REC will be bringing a Halloween theme to its coffee hour hosting.  All ages are welcome to wear costumes to service- though please refrain from scary costumes in consideration of younger children in attendance.

Nov 2 event
The Montclair Art Museum offers “First Free Thursdays” and Nov 2 includes origami demonstrations.  A fun opportunity for families of all ages!

Youth and Adult Training Opportunity
If you are currently serving older youth in some capacity (Neighboring Faiths, Our Whole Lives, Coming of Age, Senior Youth Group)- or think you might like to serve as such- this training is a great opportunity to develop your capacity and confidence to do so.
