This year, the efforts of the Unitarian Universalist Legislative Ministry of New Jersey (UULMNJ) are focused on “Dismantling Racism”. On Saturday, October 15th, from 3:00 to 8:00 PM, Keynote Speaker Chris Crass, long time feminist, anti-racist organizer and author, will speak on how white allies can help advance the Black Lives Matter movement. Contribute your energy and good ideas to UULMNJ’s legislative action plan for this coming year by participating in any of our task force break-out groups: Criminal Justice Reform, Environmental Preservation, Reproductive Rights, Gun Control, Immigration or Economic Justice. Social justice-inspired legislation is one way we transmute the UU values preached in our Sunday sermons into pragmatic policies for the good of the community. Cost is $25 and includes dinner. Scholarship and student rates available. For more information and to register, go to UULMNJ.org or contact Diane Finn.
