Religious Education Looking Forward – September 2013

September ushers in the most exciting and satisfying time of year for me. The sunshine is rich, the farmer’s markets are bursting with delicious produce, and in this part of the country, the temperature is just perfect. Here at 67 Church Street the energy of the UU Congregation reverberates all around. I just came back from a training module where I shared in the planning energy of Religious Education staff from all around our region. In September, we really start humming in anticipation of the opportunities for transformation and fun this coming year!  Breathe it in as you enter the Narthex.

On Saturday, September 7th, our RE teachers will participate in our Annual Start Up Saturday. It is an opportunity for new teachers to learn the ropes and experienced teachers to refresh and regroup and for all to plan out the program year ahead.

On Sunday, September 8th, we return to our two services at 9:00 and 11:00 AM and will all gather for our Intergenerational Water Communion service.  There will be nursery care and Pre-K programming provided for the youngest among us; older children are encouraged to attend the service with their families.

On Sunday September 15th, we kick off our RE Programming for the year ahead.  Be sure to register your children for RE classes. A registration form can be downloaded and printed right from our website.

There is a lot of planning to be done for the months ahead for both inside and outside of the classroom. As September gets underway, we will be preparing for the Crop Walk and Dia De Los Muertos in October.  If you would like to be part of the festivities let me know by contacting me at secretary.uucm@verizon.net or (973) 744-6276 ext. 18.

There are opportunities for all!

See you Sunday,
Judith A. Stein-Farrall
