Our New Developmental Director of Family Ministry

The UUCM Director of Family Ministries Search Team has completed its work. It is with joy that we announce that Lily Rappaport will be joining the UUCM staff as our Developmental Director of Family Ministry. Lily will be here Sunday, July 1, 2018 for a “Meet and Greet,” although she will not begin full-time service with us until August 1, 2018.

With over twenty-thee years of experience in religious education, Lily has served Unitarian Universalist congregations in White Plains and Manhasset in New York, as well as in West Hartford and Westport in Connecticut. She comes to us most recently from the Unitarian Universalist Church of Kent, Ohio, where she is currently the Director of Religious Education.

Passionate on the topic of congregational systems and organizational change, Lily has direct experience in helping congregations in transition instill vitality and health in their religious education programs. Lily looks forward to helping UUCM redesign faith development for families and to developing innovative programs that will enrich the spiritual community. She chose us because she sensed our desire to do the tough work of program transformation. She brings deep listening, a soft touch, and an appreciation for what is already working well here at UUCM.

Special thanks go to your search team for a professional and successful search. They had 17 inquiries, and 14 applicants. They interviewed their top 6 candidates. Of the candidates that remained, Lily was the best fit. Let us welcome her warmly and help her help us build our next generation of meaningful programming for families, no matter how we define the word ‘family.’
