Dear Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Montclair,
We live in trying times, times that weigh on our minds, hearts and spirits. Some face personal struggles, others are subject to the turmoil that is gripping our nation and our world. However you are challenged, we at UUCM want you to know of the many resources available to support you. We also want you to know how beautiful you are.
Throughout the month of June we will be singing the prayer response “How Could Anyone Ever Tell You” (you were anything less than beautiful.) This is a direct message to you, our beautiful community. You are seen, loved and cared for. Please know that there is never any shame in reaching out for support. The willingness to be vulnerable is a sign of emotional strength.
- The Care Team at UUCM is glad to provide direct support in the form of calls, cards, meals, rides, or visits. You can reach the Care Team by contacting Arlene Marin, Care Team Co-Chair, directly.
- The Co-Ministers are glad to provide pastoral support, and you can reach out to them directly at revscott@uumontclair.org or revanya@uumontclair.org
- There are also many resources available throughout New Jersey and our nation for anyone facing a crisis or considering suicide. You can find this help here. If you’re thinking about suicide, are worried about a friend or loved one, or would like emotional support, the Lifeline network at 1-800-273-8255 is a good place to start. You are worth it.
Yours in Faith and Connection,
Co-Ministers Rev. Anya and Rev. Scott Sammler-Michael and the Staff at UUCM
