The Funeral Consumers Alliance of Northern NJ has a long history with UUCM. We started and ran a chapter of the Memorial Society, as it originally was called, from 1964 to 1995. For the first time, the Annual Conference of the Funeral Consumers Alliance of Northern NJ (FCANNJ) will be held at the Central Unitarian Congregation in Paramus, NJ on April 28, 2019 at 2:00 PM. Keynote Speaker Bonnie Schneider, LCSW, the Director of Social Services at the Valley Homecare/Hospice, will discuss the advantages of engaging a Death Doula to assist the family as a loved one nears the end of life. Also, a FCANNJ Board member will speak about New Jersey’s new Aid in Dying for the Terminally Ill Act.
