Interested in Being a General Assembly Delegate?
General Assembly (GA) is the annual gathering of Unitarian Universalists from all over the United States. It will be held in Kansas City, MO from June 20-24. If you are planning to attend GA (or if you can attend a live “streaming meeting and vote virtually) and would like to be considered as a voting delegate representing UUCM, please contact Susan Raufer, President of the Board of Trustees, by April 30, 2018. Delegates will meet in advance of the meeting to discuss the issues that will be voted upon. Please note that delegates must pay their own travel expenses.
Safety at UUCM: Planning for Critical Response
It is difficult to imagine that our beloved building and congregation might experience a safety crisis, such as an active shooter, during Sunday Services, special events, or even during the week when the pre-school children and staff are in attendance. The Board of Trustees has undertaken the initial steps to develop a crisis response plan with the hope that it will never be needed. Board members Kitty Cullina-Bessey and Doug Andrews are working with Reverend Scott and key UUCM and pre-school staff to partner with the Critical Response Team of the Montclair Police Department. You will soon learn about changes to our physical plant and new procedures that will be put in place to protect our children and adults. If you have questions, please contact Kitty, Doug, our co-ministers or members of the Board of Trustees.
