According to the Mayo Clinic, laughter offers stress relief with accompanying short and long term benefits. In the short term, laughter enhances the intake of oxygen rich air, which stimulates circulation and aids muscle relaxation. It also increases the release of endorphins. In the long term, laughter improves our immune system. It causes the body to produce natural painkillers which lessen depression. Positive thoughts release neuropeptides that help fight stress and physical illness. Our Positive Place invites family members of people  with a mental illness to our newest covenant group.
