This Fall we will initiate a new and changing “look” for our chancel. Besides those who provide the aural elements of our Sunday services, our chancel is a visual focus of our worship experience and so, too, an important part of the overall aesthetics of our Sunday Experience.
We envision the new chancel visual experience as something that will serve to illuminate or highlight, the theme of the month or the season. Imagine the chancel table embellished with flowers, plants, branches, fabric, artworks, or other items that combine to heighten the experience of the worship service. Here is a chance and a place to bring your creative self literally to the table and to participate in providing a beautiful and meaningful facet of our Sunday Experience by participating in our Chancel Guild.
Those interested could commit to a month of Sundays, or to arrange to share the month with some other member(s). There is no rule that the whole look has to change each week, but of course, flowers should be fresh and making sure the overall set-up is ready for Sunday would be required. Please reach out to Rev. Anya (revanya@uumontclair.org) to sign up.
