At our congregation’s Annual Meeting in 2020 we affirmed, without contest, the Eighth Principle of Unitarian Universalism: “We, the member congregations of the Unitarian Universalist Association, covenant to affirm and promote: journeying toward spiritual wholeness by working to build a diverse multicultural Beloved Community by our actions that accountably dismantle racism and other oppressions in ourselves and our institutions.”

Read our Eighth Principle Resolution.

In 2020, following the approval of the Eighth Principle, our Undoing Racism Team set up a Congregational Focus Task Force to coordinate focus group conversations and map the areas where we as an institution need to grow to be accountable to our Eighth Principle Commitment.

All of our Teams and Committees were asked by the Board of Trustees in 2023 to update their charges to account for our Eighth Principle commitment. This work is ongoing.
