We all experience losses throughout our lifetime, whether they are a loss of loved ones, others important to us, or important parts of our lives. Grieving our losses can be a lonely experience. People often do not know what to say to a grieving person; so they may say nothing which increases a sense of aloneness; or may behave awkwardly increasing your sense of distance.
It is hoped that the Grief Support Group will provide some comfort to those experiencing loss and combat the resulting sense of loneliness in some way. The group provides a caring and confidential environment that allows its members to share their experiences with others around their loss. The group is facilitated by an experienced group leader and participation guidelines are provided. This is a support group, not a therapy group.
