The Perinatal Health Equity Initiative eliminates health care disparities in Black infant and maternal health. Founded by Dr. Nastassia Davis, this nonprofit empowers Black and Brown women and their children in Essex County and New Jersey. Perinatal Health Equity Initiative also participates in advocacy, education, and research. to further their work encompassing justice, equity and compassion.
As part of the network of Covenant House New Jersey, Nancy's Place, Montclair is a residential crisis center for youth with eight always full beds, provides comprehensive residential care and related services to help local youth who have suffered from abuse, neglect, abandonment, homelessness, and human trafficking build a life for themselves that is good.
