Nick Lewis

Trustee at Large

Nick is currently a member of the UUCM Board, the Social Justice Coalition Team, Co-Chair of the Auction Committee, Leader of the Art & Soul Covenant Group, a member of the Men’s Group, and active in the Undoing Racism Committee and the Finance Committee. Nick is a former President of the Congregation (2008-2011), member of the Board (2004-2007), and former Chair of the Membership Committee (2011-2014). Nick has been running the Annual Auction, in varying capacities, since 2003 and have been involved in various other fundraising ventures. He is currently Vice President of UU FaithAction NJ and was formerly President. When Nick and his wife, Judie, lived in London from 2015 to 2017, they were active members of New Unity, a Unitarian congregation located in an incredibly historic meeting house on Newington Green. While there, Nick helped start their men’s group and Social Justice Team and assisted in planning services. All three of their kids, Alex, James, and Hannah, went through the Religious Education Program and Nick taught a variety of RE Classes over the years.  Over the course of his legal career, Nick has represented labor unions, pension funds, those subject to discrimination and the elderly. He has been an Australian Baseball League executive and sportswriter and was elected to the Montclair Town Council. Nick was also a stay-at-home dad, a PTA leader, Little League coach, and graphic designer.
