Earth Communion

The resurrection theme of the Easter holiday is often more metaphorical than literal. Many kinds of resurrection can be emphasized: rebirth of nature, resurrecting dreams and hopes or resurrecting dead relationships. In a general sense, the ultimate triumph of life over death.

For our Earth Communion, we celebrate that at last spring has come, and after a long, harsh winter we are grateful to the Earth for coming back to life and for bringing us back to life and for giving us new hope and appreciative hearts. Upon leaving the Sanctuary, you will receive a small cup full of dirt. You will go out into the garden and find a plant or flower that you feel a connection with and offer your loving gift.
