Life Transition Ministry
Our ministers are honored to help individuals and families celebrate
and acknowledge life transitions, such as weddings, commitment ceremonies,
child dedications, and memorial services, for those both inside
and outside of our congregation. Honoring life's milestones is an
important part of spiritual life and growth, and through counseling
and careful service planning, our ministers fully support those
experiencing these life transitions.
Child Dedications
Child dedications are our ritual way of welcoming infants and
children into the congregation. They are similar to Baptisms,
Christenings or Naming Ceremonies in other faith traditions.
For members, a small child is dedicated as part of our Sunday
morning worship services, which we include once each month. We
also perform Child Dedications in people's homes. For non-members,
the dedication will not be available during Sunday service, but
we will be more than happy to dedicate your child here at UU Montclair,
in your home or some other location with your child's family and
community present. For more information, please call us during
