Senior Youth Group
The Senior Youth (for youth in grades 10 thru 12), with the support of their adult advisors, design their own program. Within the basic framework of a well-balanced program of learning, worship, community building, social justice and leadership development and the limits of adult energy, the youth discuss topics of interest, plan overnights, engage in community service, go on retreats and attend Metro NY District youth conferences. As they plan and engage in their activities they ask:
- Will it build community?
- Will it deepen my spirituality?
- Will it help me or others grow and become more competent as we live in the world around us?
The goal of this program is youth empowerment within the context of a supportive and values-based religious community. As our youth become young adults we want their experiences in Sr. Youth to prepare them for a life-long connection with Unitarian Universalism.
