Music in Montclair

Our spring concert features the renowned, a Pulitzer Prize-winning group of five extraordinary instrumentalists. They will perform an eclectic mix of music, including the New Jersey premiere of Amanda Harberg’s Suite for Wind Quintet. The concert is followed by a reception where you will have an opportunity to meet the artists.

The Music in Montclair series, hosted by the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Montclair, offers concerts to our community that add meaning to people’s lives on emotional, spiritual and intellectual levels. The series brings world-class performers to Montclair and makes a special effort to bring great American music to light, while also presenting traditional music from the classical canon.
Artistic Director Amanda Harberg curates the series. A resident of Glen Ridge, New Jersey, and recipient of a 2014 New Jersey Council on the Arts Fellowship Award, Harberg is an acclaimed composer and pianist who has designed concerts for the Grand Rapids Symphony, the Music and More series, as well as other concerts in New York City and New Jersey.
Markus Grae-Hauck and Dr. Thomas Parente, music director and composer-in-residence, respectively, for the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Montclair, serve as senior advisors for Music in Montclair.
