Peace Site

Our church was dedicated as a Peace Site on May 27, 1984. Our Peace Site sign facing out over Valley Road and Church Street reminds the community of our unwavering commitment to peace. Over the years we have brought many peace issues to the attention of our congregation. In 2003-2004, we concentrated on bringing the war in Iraq to an end, and that is still our top priority. On April 3, 2004, various peace groups met at our church to co-sponsor a conference on Election 2004 - to develop an election year campaign to bring our perspective on peace and justice issues into the national debate.

The Peace Site is in need of new leaders, as Joanne Ceraso is moving to Vermont and Martha Jewett has a willing spirit but the flesh has become weak. Consider joining the Peace Site Committee and see that the efforts for peace in our world continue to be fostered in our church community.
