Peace and Justice Committee
UU Montclair was dedicated as a Peace Site on May 27, 1984. Our
Peace Site sign facing out over Valley Road and Church Street reminds
the community of our unwavering commitment to peace. Over the years
we have brought many peace issues to the attention of our congregation
and our community.
The Co-Chairs of the Peace and Justice Committee, Francesca Elms
and Susan Krcmar, are committed to the work of peace in our troubled
world. Working to resolve the issues of injustice everywhere remains
an important part of our mission, from the inadequate schools in
our inner cities to more distant places such as Darfur in Africa.
Peace in our own nation is important, as is peace in the world.
We are pleased to work together with the many other peace and social
justice groups within the UU Peace and Justice Coalition.
