Growing Green Jobs
Our economy has been hit hard over the past two years and many of us have felt it. Job layoffs occurred as the job market shrank and many people are now searching for new avenues of employment. If you are looking for a new career, one area of employment that has been growing despite the recession is the "green" or environmental sector. Careers have opened up that didn't exist a few years ago. The specter of Global Warming has changed the world outlook. This has affected the business world and created many job opportunities.

Categories of employment that have opened up include the following:
Green Building, Sustainability or CSR positions, Renewable Energy - Solar and Wind, Energy Efficiency, Carbon Abatement, Green Media and Marketing, Green Architecture and Engineering, Eco-friendly Hotel & Hospitality, Green Finance, Clean Technology, Technical support positions, CEO positions, Computer/Data Analysts, Sales Jobs, Program Directors, Admin jobs, Project Managers, Environmental Journalism.

Interested in starting a new eco-friendly career? Start by making connections and networking. Attend trade shows and conferences. Take an online class or seminar. Conduct informational interviews of people already in the field. Volunteer for an organization that interests you. Basically, become educated about the field you are interested in, attend related events and make contacts. A new exciting career is just around the corner.
